Grand Pineapple Beach history - learn what once happend
The history of the resort we now know as Grand Pineapple Beach Resort dates back to the early 60'S when it was built with just a few rooms and known as New Antigua Horizon. Later, in 1983, the property was purchased by an English Couple. Through the passage of several hurricanes, the resort underwent remodeling and in 1986 was purchased by another company who changed the name of the property to Pineapple Beach Club. The resort operated without telephone service, televisions or any of the modern luxuries to which we now boast. In 1998, again changed ownership and was sold to an international hotel chain which did a huge remodeling, adding more rooms, a pool, restaurants, etc. In 2001, two company merged and the resort became part of a bigger company with the resort name changed ones again. The property was sold on 1st December 2006 to a private company and now operations independently as Grand Pineapple Beach Resort.
